Most of you reading this are new to the shooting sports so I want to welcome you. I have had so much fun in meeting many of you and hearing your stories of what brought you into H & H. Our goal is to develop the shooting sports and to serve you. The sport is made up of so many wonderful people and different aspects that should help everyone find a place they feel comfortable with. To that end we will start a calendar of events on the web site to make it easer to see what is going on. We have several exciting events planned and want to hear from you on anything we need to improve on. The swell of new people started here at H & H some time before the election. In reviewing our sales we found that almost 80% of those folks who bought guns between October 08 and January 09 were either first time or second time buyers. Clearly the majority were brand new to H & H and the sport. This phenomenon is not what was expected by the national media or the current administration. The shortage of ammo is due (in part) to these new folks who are excited and shooting regularly. We are now seeing the second wave of new buyers who were friends with the first group. No doubt you have heard a lot of what has been going on in the national front. We are informed daily by several good groups on issues and will do our best to sort through them and report to you any situations. The surprise so far is that although the administration has tried to attack the 2nd Amendment on multiple occasions all have been turned around very fast. I was very proud of our own Oklahoma Senator Tom Colburn for inserting into the credit card bill wanted so bad by President Obama, added a provision that will allow all Law Abiding Conceal Carry holders to carry in federal parks and land. Now this is far from a done deal but it is step in the right direction. Diane Feinstein in an interview with ABC stated very clearly that “We will pick the time to strike at them”. This is so sad but also so indicative of a group of people who have lost touch with the facts of the shooting sports and our constitution. Every day that goes by the amount of responsible gun owners is growing so when they do decide to “strike” they will be upsetting more people than they would have the day before. On a much better note product is starting to show up more consistently. You will see a list of some of that in this email. For those interested in connecting to the heritage of the sport, one way is to reload your own ammo. This is a very enjoyable part of a shooter’s life going back over a century. AR Style Rifles S&W rifles like the M&P AR 15 as well as most other brands are showing up daily. Pistols The very popular Ruger LCP (380 semi auto) and the Ruger LCR (38 special revolver) are both in steady supply. The Ruger LCR is a little slower but we are getting them. Reloading Components This area has been one of our more challenging areas but with that said product is arriving better than expected. Brass, powder, a primers and bullets are coming in daily. We just received a large shipment of Hornady bullets as well as Precision Delta handgun and rifle bullets for reloading. Clothing EOTEC tactical clothing and Beretta line have all come in. There are several other lines to see as well. Other Items Cowboy Rifles & Handguns, Shotguns and Hunting Rifles are all stocked up for the most part. Peltor Tactical Sport Electronic hearing protection and the new Inova line of flashlights are here. As with all inventory a steady flow is coming in.
