We are very pleased to announce a new addition to the range. We have
received requests for engraving but had been reluctant to make this step
until we found just the right person. Starting this week we will have
Master Engraver John Cothern join our team. He will be located next to the
air-gun range. His work is impressive yet affordable. John is also a
Master Goldsmith and can repair most all items of jewelry. We first came to
know John when he stopped in to show us his work on a 1911 slide for a
mutual friend. The request for engraving initials on magazines seems to be
hot ticket given the past emails we have received. He will have some
examples of his work on display and we want to encourage you to stop in and
visit him. He will be set up in the next several days.

There has been a fair amount
of the national media stretching the facts about “The Run On Guns”. Please
allow me to set the record straight at least as we know it as of today.
As of this email we have not seen a “panic” on
any one group of items. Yes business has been strong here but the increase
is across the board, going on for several years, and not on any one facet of
the sport.
Other dealers around the country as with H &
H, have been preparing for what may happen but as of this email there have
been no price increases planned or announced other than what is normal for
end of year and the start of the new.
There is no shortage of ammo or guns that has
happened yet.
Yes the potential election of a anti gun
administration worries us but if past history is any indication it will not
be in the beginning of the term that challenges will start. We have no
guarantee but the reaffirmation of the 2nd amendment by the
Supreme Court will weigh heavy on the thoughts of those who may try and push
matters through had we not had the ruling in our favor.
Yes, there is a new 4473 form coming out. It
has been in the works for some time and a number of the changes were
improvements for the dealers done at their request.
Yes there is going to be a computer version of
this form. No it is not tied into any national system. It will simply make
filling out the form easer and with less errors. The vast majority of “write
ups” by ATF when inspecting dealers are due to errors on these forms. So
this will help make things go smoother at the store level as well.
There are several industry events over the next several
months that will happen. The first is the National Wholesalers show which
is later this week. Should we hear something that deserves your attention
we will notify you. In January is all the distributors shows and of course
the “Shot Show” which lay out the next year possibilities.
The future is
developing as we write this email. We will keep you as informed as
possible, so help spread the word.
