News on the Concealed Carry Front:
KANSAS OVERRIDES CONCEALED CARRY VETO . . . The
Kansas Legislature overrode Gov. Kathleen Sebelius's veto of a
concealed carry bill. With seven more votes than needed, the state
House voted 91-33 for an override. The Senate voted 30-10, three
more votes than needed. It was the first time in 12 years a Kansas
governor had a veto overridden,
the Associated Press reports.
Sebelius vetoed a similar bill in 2004. The new law will take effect
in July, leaving only three states – Nebraska, Illinois and
Wisconsin – with an all-out ban on carrying concealed handguns.
Oklahoma will now have to approve them, (next several weeks or so)
and then they will follow. .
Just in this morning is this news:
Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman has promised to
sign LB 454, the just-passed concealed-carry weapons bill, into law.
With this passage, only two states, Illinois and Wisconsin have no
provision allowing citizens to legally carry firearms for
self-protection. I have been told it should be only a couple of
months on both states after it takes full effect

ATK announced H&H Gun Range•Shooting Sports
Outlet as its 2005 Dealer of the Year earlier this year.
Owners Miles and Jayne Hall were recognized at ATK's SHOT
Show booth during the record-setting 28th annual show.
Like many of the 1,300 dealers involved in the Premium
Partners program, H&H Gun Range has taken advantage of
Partner exclusive offers that include enhanced co-op
advertising, exclusive promotions and hard working
point-of-sale materials - and they've seen great results.
"We have been very lucky with ATK. The Premium Partners
program they have is phenomenal," said Miles Hall. "These
programs give us the ability to run promotions on special
things that may have gone overlooked. They give us an
opportunity to stand up and do something. We couldn't have
had this kind of growth with out it."
In addition to running a successful business, the Halls are
also very involved with the community and dedicated to
improving the outdoor industry. "ATK wanted to reward the
Halls not only for their achievements on the business side,
but for how involved they are with the community," said
Steve Rodgers, Dealer Services Group Lead.
